A special edition of KETCLUB* – the AB concerts tailor-made for kids that we launched some time ago – and this one with an extra warm purpose. Together with Lefto, Charlotte Adigéry & Bolis Pupul, Chibi Ichigo, Sophia Rodriguez and Borokov Borokov, AB and Pilar are hosting a family-friendly concert afternoon in the Main Hall, in support of the children of Gaza.
While play, song and dreams come naturally to our children, for many kids in Gaza, this is currently impossible. Ongoing violence has robbed thousands of their childhood and left them with very little hope for the future. With this concert, we aim not only to raise funds for the HOPE Foundation, but also to show our solidarity and human connection.
Expect short 20-minute concerts at a softer, kid-friendly volume, yoga sessions, KetClub temporary tattoos, tasty and healthy snacks and drinks, and a warm and cozy atmosphere. You're welcome to drop in any time during the afternoon. And for those who can’t make it, support tickets are available – every ticket counts!
All proceeds from this concert go directly to the HOPE Foundation, which through its Cultural Emergency Fund provides psychosocial and artistic support to children in Gaza, as well as essentials like food, clean water and shelter. Together with artists, musicians and teachers, the HOPE Foundation helps kids stay kids – despite the ongoing genocide – by organizing various activities such as film nights, music and dance lessons.
This children’s concert follows the successful release of the ‘Start Making Sense’ album, a unique collection of songs by 60 Belgian artists created as a creative protest against the injustice in Gaza. The album raised €10,661, and we’re hoping to double that amount on this special day. That’s why ticket prices are slightly higher than usual for a KETCLUB.
Join us, bring your child (or grandchild, neighbor, godchild...) and let music speak where words fall short. Together, we can make a difference.
Timetable & practical info coming soon – but sign up now via our FB/Instagram event!
KETCLUB* is a full-fledged concert tailored to kids. AB offers the “maskes” and “ketjes” (Brussels dialect for girls and boys) a real concert experience, just like the grown-ups get. Bands play shorter sets in the afternoon and we lower the volume to 90 dB to protect sensitive little ears. A unique family outing in a warm setting.
Adult companions pay for a ticket to KETCLUB and may bring up to 2 children with them for free. Unaccompanied youngsters aged between 12-18 years old can attend the show and need a paid ticket to access the performance. Adults not accompanying a child cannot purchase a ticket.
FOR FANS OF:
Roisin Murphy, Selah Sue, BRDCST, Mikky Blanco, Compact Disc Dummies, UM!
